AP: Feds cite Islam focus in review of Duke-UNC language grant
The Trump administration is threatening to cut funding for a Middle East studies program run by the University of North Carolina and Duke University.
Education Secretary Betsy Devos is questioning whether a class offered at UNC-Chapel Hill demonstrates anti-Israeli bias. And in doing so she is dangling a federal grant over the university’s head. It sure is a slippery slope when the government gets involved in the content of a religious studies class.
