AP: Biden to name Pulse Nightclub a national memorial
President Joe Biden said on the fifth anniversary of a mass shooting at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida, that he will sign a bill naming the site as a national memorial.
In June, 2016, a gunman killed 49 people at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando.
Five years ago, we suffered the deadliest attack affecting the LGBTQ+ community in our history. Within minutes, Pulse Nightclub turned from a place of acceptance and joy to a place of unspeakable pain.
As we remember those we lost, we must recommit to honoring them with action.
