Kroger To Stop Selling Guns To Anyone Under 21

Welcome

Who knew Kroger sold guns too?  The nation’s largest grocery store chain actually does through 46 of its Fred Meyer stores in four western states.  The company announced It would no longer sell firearms or ammo to anyone under 21.

Kroger statement:  “In response to the tragic events in Parkland and elsewhere, we’ve taken a hard look at our policies and procedures for firearm sales. Recent events demonstrate the need for additional action on the part of responsible gun retailers.  We stopped selling assault-style rifles in our Oregon, Washington and Idaho Fred Meyer stores several years ago and we will no longer accept any special-orders of these weapons in Alaska.

Kroger is following Walmart, which announced a similar decision yesterday.  Dick’s Sporting Goods said on Tuesday that it was stopping the sale of all assault rifles and it was raising the age for gun purchases from 18 to 21.
