Kevin McCarthy Condemns Marjorie Taylor Greene For Comparing Mask Use To “Horrors Of The Holocaust”

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is condemning anti-Semitic comments Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene made comparing mask mandates to the deaths of six million Jewish people in the Holocaust. McCarthy did not appear on camera, but released a statement.

Marjorie is wrong, and her intentional decision to compare the horrors of the Holocaust with wearing masks is appalling.

Let me be clear: the House Republican Conference condemns this language.

Unfortunately McCarthy’s statement couldn’t just focus on Greene though. He also took time to bash the Speaker of the House:

“At a time when the Jewish people face increased violence and threats, anti-Semitism is on the rise in the Democrat Party and is completely ignored by Speaker Nancy Pelosi.”

While he didn’t refer to specific incidents and there are no similar instances in the Democratic ranks, it’s important to note that Speaker Pelosi has repeatedly condemned anti-Semitism.

If you "condemn" antisemitism and quickly shift to "But what about…” and then peddle in falsehoods and false equivalence… you haven’t really condemned antisemitism.

The other issue with McCarthy’s statement was the lack of consequences for Greene.

GOP Minority Whip Steve Scalise also released a statement.
