Former Trump Aide Roger Stone Posts Photo Of His Trial Judge With Crosshairs

Welcome

WASHINGTON, DC - JANUARY 29: Roger Stone, a longtime adviser to President Donald Trump, leaves the Prettyman United States Courthouse after pleading not guilty to charges from Special Counsel Robert Mueller that he lied to Congress and engaged in witness tampering January 29, 2019 in Washington, DC. A self-described 'political dirty-trickster,' Stone said he has been falsely accused. (Photo by Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images)

Former Trump campaign adviser Roger Stone has described his approach to politics as “Attack, attack, attack — never defend.”

Today he did just that, attacking the judge who will preside over his trial on charges of witness tampering, obstructing an official proceeding and lying to investigators from special counsel Robert Mueller’s office.

In an instagram post that placed a crosshairs next to a photo of Judge Amy Berman Jackson, he called Mueller a “Deep State hitman” and said he used “legal trickery” to put his case before Judge Jackson in a “show trial.”

Stone has since deleted the post, but did address it with a reporter from CBS.

Stone’s career as a flamboyant Republican political operative reaches back to the 1972 Nixon presidential campaign. He has been friends with Donald Trump for decades, and worked for years as a lobbyist for Trump’s casinos.

He has written several books, one claiming the late President Lyndon Johnson was behind the John F. Kennedy assassination and other murders; a biography of Richard Nixon characterizing him as a “confused victim” of the Watergate scandal (Stone has a large tattoo of Nixon on his back), and The Myth of Russian Collusion: The Inside Story of How Donald Trump REALLY Won.

Late on Monday, Stone apologized to the judge.
