We know Donald Trump has a propensity to stretch the truth but we’re curious as the strategy behind one lie he keeps retelling. It involves a former Republican President that Trump’s own party has great love for. It’s also a fact that can be easily confirmed.
Trump again makes false brag that while Ronald Reagan was unable to win Wisconsin, he was.
“One of the states we won, Wisconsin, I didn’t even realize this until fairly recently, that was the one state Ronald Reagan didn’t win when he ran the board.”

For the sixth time in the last two weeks, Trump falsely claimed Ronald Reagan didn’t win Wisconsin: “One of the states we won, Wisconsin – I didn’t even realize this until fairly recently – that was the one state Ronald Reagan didn’t win when he ran the board a second time.”

Pres Trump again today repeated his false claim of being the only recent Republican pres candidate to win Wisconsin, asserting that even Reagan lost it. Wrong. Reagan won Wisconsin in both 1980 and 1984. He only lost GA and MN in 1980 and only MN in 1984.

Whoops…. @realDonaldTrump says he won Wisconsin -the only state Reagan didn’t win in 1984. Um….that would be Minnesota.

The question is, does anyone around Trump ever tell him he’s wrong? Or is he for some reason repeating this lie on purpose?
