Donald Trump held a coronavirus task force briefing Tuesday but didn’t really break any news on the COVID-19 front. Instead, he made news for what he said about accused child sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell. Jeffrey Epstein’s former girlfriend was arrested earlier this month. Her indictment says “Maxwell assisted, facilitated and contributed to Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse of minor girls by, among other things, helping Epstein to recruit, groom, and ultimately abuse victims.”
The charges against her are serious, but you wouldn’t know it based on how the president responded to a question about her. Instead of saying he looked forward to justice in the case, he remarked “I wish her well.” He also admitted to having met her numerous times.
