Another holiday party at a Trump hotel is causing a stir. In David Fahrenhold’s latest story for the Washington Post, he reports that “An umbrella group for D.C. police unions rented out President Trump’s hotel for its annual holiday party.”

The Fraternal Order of Police lodge for the District, which advocates and organizes social events for area law enforcement, reserved Trump International Hotel for a night in early December. “A night of celebration surrounded by elegance,” the lodge said. Tickets cost $175 per couple, plus $200 more if you wanted a room for overnight.

But leaders of three individual police unions — who are affiliated with the lodge, but have separate leadership — all said they were put off by the selection of the Trump hotel.

The location and the high price tag associated with this year’s event are both causing people to scratch their heads. Fahrenthold goes on to say:

For the past 10 years, the D.C. lodge’s holiday party has been held at the lodge itself, a drab building near D.C. Superior Court. That was less elegant than Trump’s soaring hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue. But it was also cheaper: Last year, tickets to the event were just $35.

As News & Guts previously reported there were already questions swirling about a holiday party Attorney General Bill Barr is hosting at the same hotel.
