Here’s where you can see the real-world effect of the coronavirus vaccines. The number of Covid-related deaths is dropping dramatically. Yesterday the U.S. reported 222 Covid deaths, the fewest since late March, 2020.

Meanwhile, the U.S. vaccinated more than 4 million people on Saturday and is averaging more than 3 million a day. Three-quarters of Americans over 65 have received at least one dose.

Will their be a “fourth wave” of infections? Disease experts are playing down the possibility because of the effectiveness of the various vaccines. Axios writes:

A more transmissible, deadlier variant of the virus — the one that originated in the U.K. — is becoming increasingly prevalent across the country, but the U.S.’s extraordinary vaccination effort may blunt the worst effects of this most recent wave of cases.
