A 26-year-old man is under arrest for allegedly planning a Christmas Day attack in San Francisco. The FBI, an agency that has faced a lot of criticism from the President, foiled the attack.
According to the criminal complaint, the suspect “espoused radical jihadi beliefs.” He wasn’t from one of the countries that are part of Donald Trump’s travel ban, he was home grown. Everitt Aaron Jameson was born in Modesto, California.
Jameson was reportedly supportive of the Halloween terror attack in NYC where a “driver used his truck to kill 8 people.” The complaint says the former Marine wanted to carry out a similar attack at Pier 39 “because he had been there before and knew that it was a heavily crowded area.” He confided a lot of this information to an undercover FBI agent.
The affidvait said Jameson “desired to use explosives and described a play in which explosives could ‘tunnel’ or ‘funnel’ people into a location where Jameson could inflict casualties.” https://t.co/qzKxqoJqVL

San Francisco police released a statement saying, “The San Francisco Police Department was notified by the FBI about this investigation several days ago and we remain in contact with our local, state and federal partners as this case proceeds. The safety of all San Francisco residents and visitors is our top priority. As we have stated in previous weeks, during the holiday season the public will notice an increased law enforcement presence in shopping corridors and at our City’s attractions. As always, “if you see something, say something.” We encourage the community to contact officers or 9-1-1 to report suspicious activity.”
