An Insult To Our Intelligence

Welcome

Although it was carried live on television, radio and streamed across the internet, Donald Trump says don’t believe it. Yesterday, his intelligence chiefs told Congress, and the world, that North Korea wasn’t giving up its nukes, Russia, and China remained a threat and were aligning against the United States, and that Iran was not developing a bomb. It was a direct contradiction of the White House. Trump was reportedly livid and tweeted that the intel chiefs needed to go ‘back to school.’ But today, that live broadcast, according to Trump, was ‘mischaracterized by the media.’ That stunning statement came after Trump met with his intel chiefs in the Oval Office. A photo released by the White House shows the intelligence officials sitting with Trump, staring at each other, expressionless.

We couldn’t agree more. Please read and watch the complete testimony. Here it is.

From CNN:

“The President hadn’t seen see Coats’ full testimony in front of lawmakers on Tuesday, but he was furious Wednesday as he watched television chyrons blare that the officials had contradicted him. The snippets of Coats saying North Korea had “halted its provocative behavior related to its WMD program” but was unlikely to “completely give up its nuclear weapons and production capabilities” angered Trump, CNN has learned.”

In the meantime, it is painful to watch the intelligence community humiliated time and again for political gain. It is also incredibly dangerous for our country for Trump to publicly disbelieve those he appointed to the administration.

After the meeting Trump called reports on Congressional testimony ‘fake news.’
