It’s unfathomable this happened twice in a day. Just about 13 hours after a mass shooting in El Paso, a man opened fire in Dayton, Ohio. The shooting happened around 1 am outside a bar in the Oregon district of the city. In just one minute the suspect who was reportedly wearing body armor shot almost three dozen people. Police responded quickly, killing him. But not before nine people were murdered and 26 others injured. Dayton’s mayor says the suspect was able to harm so many people, so fast, because he using a .223 caliber rifle with additional high–capacity magazines.
Police got to Dayton shooter within a minute and yet he killed 9. This is only possible with high-powered, high-capacity weapons like the one he used. And it is where the “good guy with a gun” defense fails.

The Dayton killer used a .223-caliber high-capacity magazine and came armed with more, meaning he would have killed dozens more had he not been stopped within one minute.
Maybe we should, you know, ban these things?
