Jeffrey Epstein’s is a name many people now won’t forget. But as he sits behind bars waiting to see if a judge grants him bail, it’s the victims that are the ones that need to be heard and some have talked to the Miami Herald over the last nine months. One of those girls was Virginia Roberts Giuffre. Reporter Julie K. Brown writes that Giuffre “alleges she was recruited by (Ghislaine) Maxwell in 2000 when she was 16 years old. Giuffre was working as a spa attendant at Mar-a-Lago, President Donald Trump’s winter home and resort in Palm Beach at the time, court records show.” She “claimed two of the men Epstein lent her out to were attorney Alan Dershowitz and Prince Andrew, the Duke of York.” Both men have denied the allegation. In a revealing on-camera interview with the Herald (see above) Giuffre says:

“You’re screaming on the inside and you don’t know how to let it come out. And you just become this numb figure who refuses to feel and refuses to speak. All you know how to do is obey.”

The Associated Press also spoke with other alleged victims, writing:

Accuser Sarah Ransome says in a statement Monday that Epstein’s arrest “is a step in the right direction” for holding the wealthy registered sex offender accountable.

Good Morning America also talked to a couple of alleged victims:

Courtney Wild, one of Epstein’s alleged victims, identified as Jane Doe #1 in the long-running lawsuit against the Justice Department, said she was “overwhelmed” by reports of the arrest. Wild has been interviewed by ABC News recently, and has agreed to have her name used publicly.

“Finally!” she said of the arrest. “Knowing he’s off the streets and so many girls who would be in danger are now safe makes me so happy.”
