It was a frightening scene outside the federal courthouse in Dallas this morning. The Dallas Police Department tweeted, “Active Shooter Incident Downtown Dallas: There has been an exchange of gunfire between a suspect and federal officers. The suspect was shot and transported to an area hospital. No officers or other citizens injured.” That suspect later died in the hospital. The Dallas Morning News writes:

A man in a mask, combat gear and glasses was shot and killed Monday morning in downtown Dallas after he opened fire with an assault rifle outside the Earle Cabell Federal Building. No one else was injured. FBI Special Agent in Charge Matthew DeSarno identified the shooter as Brian Isaack Clyde, 22.

The Dallas Morning News adds that the motive is still unknown, “Neither DeSarno nor Erin Nealy Cox, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, gave any indication why Clyde would target the federal building. They also did not say who shot Clyde.”

The gunfire was captured on video. Watch above.
