It would seem all but impossible to find 420 adults to agree on anything but this morning lawmakers in the House voted 420-0 to make public the report by special counsel Robert Mueller. Four Republicans voted “present.”

The measure is a non-binding resolution introduced by Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY). From The Hill:

“Should the Justice Department decide against releasing the report to the public, House Democrats could potentially subpoena the department for its contents. Thursday’s vote also provided the opportunity for Democrats to force Republicans into potentially taking a difficult vote.”

For Democrats, the measure was an important gesture and was meant to send a message to the Justice Department. But, as Republicans noted, the resolution could not force Attorney General William Barr to release the full report to the public. During his confirmation hearing, Barr refused to say if he would release the results of the investigation.
