Kamala Harris is officially jumping into the race for the White House. The California senator made the announcement Monday morning on Good Morning America.

If elected she could make history on several fronts, as a woman, as an African-American and someone of Indian descent. This all played a role in why she decided to make the announcement on MLK day.
