A former adviser to Donald Trump is one of many people today saying the President is lying about his relationship with Paul Manafort. This comes after Trump tried to make it seem like Manafort, his former campaign chairman, was insignificant to his campaign. This comes as Manafort faces various charges including money laundering, bank fraud and more.
….Paul Manafort came into the campaign very late and was with us for a short period of time (he represented Ronald Reagan, Bob Dole & many others over the years), but we should have been told that Comey and the boys were doing a number on him, and he wouldn’t have been hired!

Regardless of when Manafort joined the campaign, there is no doubt he and Trump had a close relationship.
Trump continues to downplay Manafort role, but he was with Trump’s campaign during a crucial time – from March til mid-August 2016, including during GOP Convention. FBI began Russia probe in July 2016. https://t.co/5hVzEY8e3V

Paul Manafort was hired by Trump in February 2016.
He ran Trump's campaign until August 2016, and was an unofficial advisor for at least five months after.
Trump had known Manafort for years. They lived in the same building.
Trump is lying about Manafort and we *all* know why.

Back in April 2016, one person close to the Trump campaign said of Trump: “He’s calling Manafort like 20 times a day.” https://t.co/qGJErOPXdP pic.twitter.com/3V6esODWBE

Donald, Nice selective memory. You hired Paul because you were losing the delegate fight during the primary. If you stuck with Lewandowski, you wouldn’t have been the nominee. You’re lucky Paul worked for you. https://t.co/ofA8gtWibS
