Gen. Mark Milley’s first public comments come amid a firestorm over the calls, in which he assured a Chinese counterpart that the U.S. wasn’t going to attack China in the waning days of Trump’s term.
Milley and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin are scheduled to testify before Congress at the end of the month.
