Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) has been accused of being one of the members of Congress who helped fuel “The Big Lie.” But now he seems to be changing his tune. Back in May, NBC’s Chuck Todd challenged Crenshaw for signing onto a lawsuit that the Texas attorney general filed to question the validity of election results in other states. Crenshaw defended his actions saying, “That amicus brief was a simple question of the Supreme Court in saying, ‘Can you please speak to this question of whether process changes in the election last-minute, not approved by the legislature, can be deemed constitutional?’” Now it appears Crenshaw has moved on. At a GOP fundraiser in Illinois this week, he shot down a man in the crowd who claimed the election results would flip soon in Donald Trump’s favor. During the exchange, the Congressman said while he believed there was some voter fraud, there certainly wasn’t enough to swing the election, “There are certain states with problems, but don’t kid yourself into believing that’s why we lost, it’s not. It’s not!”
Now some of the MAGA crowd on Twitter has turned on Crenshaw. The very Conservative representative is even being called a RINO (Republican in Name Only).
The criticism among Republicans who admit Joe Biden won fair and square isn’t doing their party any favors. We’ve seen Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger vilified for doing it, now the same thing is happening with Crenshaw.
