Michelle Obama is joining with Stacey Abrams for a public service announcement aimed at rallying support for voting rights. In the video, the former first lady cites the laws several states have passed to make it more difficult to vote:
“Right now, dangerous legislation is being proposed across the country that limits the freedom to vote, cast our ballots and have our votes counted.”
Abrams adds, “Many of these proposals would disproportionately impact Black, Brown, young, and working-class voters, and voters with disabilities.”
With our freedom to vote under attack, Congress must take action. That’s why @MichelleObama and I are asking Americans nationwide to join this fight and to contact their members of Congress to demand they protect our democracy.

The Washington Post writes: “Both women worked to turn out voters in last year’s elections — Abrams through Fair Fight Action, which she founded in 2018 after a close contest for governor of Georgia, and Obama through When We All Vote, which she launched in 2018 to educate and mobilize voters of color and young people. This is their first public joint venture.”
The PSA was a collaboration between Michelle Obama’s non-profit When We All Vote and Abram’s organization, Fair Fight Action.
