The fierce critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin began refusing food on March 31 to demand medical care for leg and back pain.
There was word this week that Navalny was near death. The 44-old-year has been receiving support from around the world.
Tens of thousands of Russians protested in the streets on the same day Putin delivered his state of the union address. Nearly 1,800 were arrested.
