During the pandemic mass shootings were down, but now over the last month, the numbers have tragically skyrocketed.
According to CNN, there have been 45 mass shootings in the last 30 days. They define a mass shooting as an incident where four or more people were shot (not including the gunman). The latest one happened overnight in Indianapolis at a FedEx facility.
Word is the shooter in Indianapolis was able to carry out his carnage in just one to two minutes. It is reported he used a high-powered assault rifle, a type of gun that many argue shouldn’t be available to consumers. Now, it’s clear today that people are fed up and demanding change. There are many quotes that stood out to us today about this including the following one, which is obviously reacting to how the government quickly paused the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Florian Krammer, a Professor at the Department of Microbiology Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai wrote:
“If guns were vaccines we would now have a pause on gun sales until we understand the risks better.”
