USA Today: Chicago police officer placed on administrative duty after fatal ‘armed confrontation’ with 13-year-old boy
The boy, Adam Toledo, died by homicide from a gunshot wound to the chest, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is asking authorities to “release any relevant videos as soon as possible” saying that “transparency and speed are crucial.”
While the investigation is ongoing it is critically important that COPA release relevant videos first to the family, and then to the public, as quickly as possible, with appropriate protections, given his age.
