CBS: U.S. soldier killed in Syria identified as Master Sgt. Johnathan J. Dunbar
36-year-old Master Sgt. Johnathan J. Dunbar died as a result of injuries when an IED detonated, the DOD said in a statement
The DOD has identified the U.S. soldier killed in Syria Friday as Master Sgt. Johnathan J. Dunbar. Dunbar’s death marks the first U.S. combat death in Syria this year and it came one day after President Trump signaled the U.S. may soon be leaving the region.
