The attorney caught talking to a judge on a Zoom call with a cat filter on is now addressing what happened saying, “I got as big of a laugh out of it as everyone else.” Rod Ponton says he was having lunch yesterday when his phone started ringing off the hook with calls from around the world. The West Texan quickly learned that video of the hearing went viral. In an interview with the New York Times, Ponton joked, “If I can make the country chuckle for a moment in these difficult times they’re going through, I’m happy to let them do that at my expense.”
