The officer who was hailed a hero for his actions during the siege on Capitol Hill escorted Kamala Harris to the inauguration today. As a mob ran up the stairs inside the building close to the entrance of the Senate chambers, Eugene Goodman led rioters the other way all by himself. His name was read over the loudspeaker along with all the other dignitaries as he arrived at the ceremony as well.

Goodman has received a promotion for his actions. He is now acting deputy House sergeant at arms. And there is a push by several members of Congress to award Goodman the Congressional Gold Medal.
