Hours after a Trump-inspired mob was cleared from the Capitol, lawmakers returned to confirm the electoral votes for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. The final tally of 306-232 was announced just before dawn after objections were heard from several members of Congress.
Trump issued a statement through a surrogate because Twitter has blocked his account.
“Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th,” he said in a statement.
