AP: N. Korea’s Kim apologizes over shooting death of S. Korean
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un apologized Friday over the killing of a South Korea official who was apparently trying to defect near the rivals’ disputed sea boundary.
A senior South Korean military officer said North Korea likely killed this man because one of the country’s anti-coronavirus measures involves “indiscriminate shooting” directed at anyone approaching its borders illegally.
