How’s this for an example of why wearing a mask is so important? Today, Politico is reporting that a prominent Congressman, who has refused to wear a mask, has COVID-19. The publication says:
Rep. Louie Gohmert — a Texas Republican who has been walking around the Capitol without a mask — has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to multiple sources.
Gohmert was scheduled to fly to Texas on Wednesday morning with President Donald Trump and tested positive in a pre-screen at the White House. The eighth-term Republican told CNN last month that he was not wearing a mask because he was being tested regularly for the coronavirus.
There is no telling who Gohmert may have exposed before his diagnosis. During Tuesday’s hearing with William Barr, Gohmert was, at one point, seen walking side by side with the Attorney General himself.
ACTUALLY… here is a video of AG Barr and Gohmert.

While Barr arrived with a mask, it was off when he walked into the hearing room, so both men were not wearing masks at this time. pic.twitter.com/xm6wuq6QvW
Gohmert wasn’t wearing a mask during the hearing either. At one point, House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler, reminded a handful of Republican committee members that masks were required, telling them: “To stop violating the safety of the members of the committee. To stop holding themselves out as not caring by refusing to wear their masks.”
